POSITION DESCRIPTION

  • Position Title:  Educational Data Specialist
  • School/Department:  Education Center
  • Supervisor:  Assistant Superintendent
  • Terms of Employment:  Teacher Contract + 20 days 

Primary Function:

 

The Educational Data Specialist will play a crucial role in facilitating data-driven decision-making within the district. This position will be responsible for managing, organizing, and curating data from various sources, primarily utilizing EduClimber and PowerSchool platforms. Additionally, you will collaborate with stakeholders including administrators, principals, instructional coaches, and teachers to ensure data is effectively utilized to enhance educational outcomes. Moreover, you will contribute to the creation and implementation of surveys and projects using Qualtrics.

 

Essential Duties:

  • Organizes and analyzes student data used for instructional purposes using shared accountability and local school databases.
  • Coordinate data collection processes and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Organize data in a manner that facilitates easy access and analysis by stakeholders.
  • Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and insights relevant to educational goals and objectives.
  • Generate reports and visualizations to communicate key findings to stakeholders in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Collaborate with administrators, principals, instructional coaches, and teachers to understand data needs and requirements.
  • Provide support and training to stakeholders on the effective use of data platforms and tools.
  • Design, build, and implement surveys and dashboards using the Qualtrics platform for various educational projects and initiatives.
  • Customize survey instruments to gather specific data relevant to identified goals and objectives.

Essential Qualifications and Characteristics:

  • Have knowledge and understanding of educational database tools such as PowerSchool, EduClimber, Qualtrics, etc.
  • The education and educator license or permit required by the Indiana Department of Education

Working Conditions:

 

The duties of this position are performed in a classroom environment.  Persons are required to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch.  Additionally, persons may need to lift objects up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision requirements include close vision, distant vision, and depth perception.  Noise levels in the working environments may be moderately loud or loud.  Occasionally, persons are required to work outdoors in varied weather conditions.  Persons are also required to maintain emotional composure under stress.
