POSITION DESCRIPTION
- Position Title: ECOLE School Site Coordinator (Elkhart Community Opportunities for Learning Engagement - Title IV Federal Grant Funded Position: Full Service Community Schools, while grant funds are available)
- School/Department: Designated Elementary School/Education Department
- Supervisor: Principal, Assistant Principal, and Lead Project Coordinator
- Terms of Employment: 214 Days (10 months)
Primary Function:
Lead the coordination of all program activities within the school site and serve as the on-site liaison between the principal, parents, school staff, project and instructional staff. Partner with the principal, project, and/or school staff to ensure that the necessary scheduling, logistics, and infrastructure support is provided for the project. Lead participant recruitment efforts, work with instructional staff and service providers on participant retention, and collaborate with all project team members to ensure program equity, quality, and consistency. Work with instructional and project staff to collect reporting and general grant data.
Essential Duties:
- Lead the yearly comprehensive program plan to include development, implementation, coordination, and oversight of all activities within the school site.
- Facilitate program staff meetings.
- Meet regularly with the Project Director and Lead Program Coordinator to ensure program goals and objectives are being met.
- Maintain positive and effective communication lines with and between the principal, assistant principal, school staff, parents, students, project and instructional staff, and partners.
- Coordinate logistics and facilitate appropriate infrastructure support with the support of the principal, school, and project staff.
- Plan and manage the successful recruitment and retention of students and parents in the program.
- Assist the students and parent/family instructors with programming and provide on-site leadership and support during the after-school student component and at family workshops and activities.
- Coordinate with the project staff and other School Site Coordinators to ensure program alignment across project schools.
- Coordinate efforts with the school community to work with multiple program stakeholders.
- Ensure all documentation, data and reports are up to date at the school for the program outcome reports and evaluation purposes.
- Perform all other job duties as assigned.
Essential Qualifications and Characteristics:
- High school graduate with at least 30 hours of post graduate credits and/or work experience in community leadership, after-school programs and parent/family programming.
- Highly efficient clerical, organizational, and collaboration skills.
- Excellent communication, leadership and presentation skills.
- Experience working with computers is necessary.
- Ability to relate and communicate positively and clearly with school staff and members of the community.
- Regular and timely attendance.
Working Conditions:
The duties of this position are performed in a classroom environment. Persons are required to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision requirements include close vision, distant vision, and depth perception. Noise levels in the working environments may be moderately loud or loud. Occasionally, persons are required to work outdoors in varied weather conditions. Persons are also required to maintain emotional composure under stress. There are no environmental hazards indicated for this position.
